Morecambe RAM Lodge gets 2 new members!

Friday 28th February saw Morecambe RAM Lodge elevate John Henry Mayor, and accept into their ranks Neil McGill as a joining member.  A special night indeed, made even more special because they were honoured by the presence of our Deputy PGM Keith Beardmore. He had attended the Installation meeting last time, and had urged the Lodge to go out and seek new members.  As the Lodge took note of what he advised, he thought he should really go back and thank them!

This was the first meeting after the Installation, which is hard enough for the new team, but there were also some members missing due to unavoidable circumstances, so we had a few people standing in on the evening. Stuart Cowburn explained the signs in a very accomplished manner, and Peter Jackson (father of the Commander) stood in as SD, with the steps and tools being explained in a wonderful manner by Alan Gregory, the hard-working DC.  In the end, no-one noticed the stand-in officers, and the Worshipful Commander did a splendid job! John Henry Mayor was a splendid candidate for elevation, and Neil McGill was welcomed in as a joining member.
Magnificent hand-made sceptres of the Lodge
The festive board was laid out in the traditional triangular format, which let us all speak around the Lodge, and was a really friendly event. John Stanley proposed the toast to the visitors in expert style, responded to by Kieron Mullen, WC of the Furness RAM Lodge.  The IPC welcomed Neil McGill to the Lodge, and Geoffrey Lee proposed the Toast to John Henry Mayor, who responded well.
The Lodge was very pleased to have our Deputy PGM back
We were also honoured by the presence of the special reps Brian Davy and John Forster, who do so much for the Mark and the RAM degrees.

It was wonderful to attend such a good RAM meeting - a ceremony, a joining member, and a superb festive board among friends - who could ask for more?
